Ofsted in 2014 said:
‘Standards at the end of Key Stage 1 and by Year 4, when pupils leave for middle school, are significantly above those usually found in reading, writing and mathematics.’
‘By the time pupils leave the school, at the end of Year 4, attainment in English and mathematics is exceptionally high.’
‘Pupils across the range of year groups and abilities, including the more able, make outstanding progress from the starting points expected nationally when they join the school in the Reception class.’
‘Pupils are treated as individuals and, as a result, all pupils, including those eligible for the pupil premium and those with special educational needs, achieve well and are extremely well prepared for the next stage of their education.’
‘Rigorous assessment and tracking systems ensure the progress of individual pupils in reading, writing and mathematics’
‘Provision for pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is outstanding.’
At Tibberton CE First School we are extremely proud of the consistent high attainment of all our pupils, both in terms of academic outcomes and in the progress made over time. Our dedicated and talented team are committed to supporting the progress of all learners in all areas, whatever their background or abilities. In addition to outstanding class teaching we run interventions across the school for different groups of children, to ensure personalised learning and support, wherever it is needed. We also work closely with our Federated partner school, Hindlip CE First School, to enrich the opportunities in both our schools. A good working relationship with our local Cluster Schools also supports a rich and broad curriculum and an established transition onward when our children move onto Middle School in Year 5.
As a First School our attainment is compared to National Attainment in KS1. By this measure we have attained above or significantly above national attainment levels for all subjects. Our progress also exceeded the national standard for all three combined areas (reading, writing and maths). Our Year One pupils take part in National Phonics Screening where we have attained either in line or above National Attainment.
In Early Years our reception pupils reaching a good level of development attained significantly above National Attainment for the past three years with pupils making accelerated progress from their baseline assessments.
Our rigorous internal assessment and tracking systems monitor all our year groups to ensure the progress of individual pupils. In Reception our children make outstanding progress from their starting points. This is also reflected by the confirmation received from the Worcestershire moderation team in 2021 for our accurate assessment in KS1.
In Year 3 and Year 4 our children’s attainment and progress remains high ensuring our children are well prepared for their next steps in education.
We could not do this without our wonderful school team, thank you everyone.
