Early Help - Help and Support for Parents and Families
What is Early Help?
Early Help means providing support as soon as a problem emerges, at any point in a child’s life, from the foundation years through to teenage years.Our school works in partnership with our families and a range of wider services. We know that by us all working together and helping families access the right help and support, at the right time and at the earliest opportunity, we can support children and young people in meeting their full potential.
Early help means providing help and support to a child, young person or their family as soon as it is identified that they need additional help and support. This could be at any point in a child or young person’s life and this can be help and support on more than one occasion as we know children’s needs change as they grow and develop, there are challenges in their communities and their family circumstances and situations can change too.
The Worcestershire Offer - Worcester Children First have also developed a family hub which gives children, young people and their families the opportunities to access help and support from a whole range of different services in different ways. What type support does the Starting Well Partnership offer?
- Sleep webinars for children under 10
- Supporting children with autism
- Dads and male caregiver groups
- Online parenting courses / behaviour support
- Understanding your child's feelings course
- Understanding your child's mental health and wellbeing course
- Smoke free home support - free Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) and 1:1 support with a trained advisor
- Support with bullying
- Support with sexual identify
- Support with alcohol and drugs misuse
- Benefits support
These are just a few examples of the free groups, courses and support which are on offer.
